The Foresters Pub to be demolished in favour of houses.

Plans to knock down a Dartford boozer in favour of houses have been given the green light by council officers.

An application to demolish The Foresters pub in High Road, Wilmington, was lodged with Dartford Council back in April with developers eyeing up the land to develop six, small family houses in it's place.

According to planning documents, the pub itself has been vacant since closing down last October.

Council documents show that the new homes proposed for the site will all be two-bedroom houses with accompanying garden space, along with refuse and bicycle storage space.

The developer, Punch Partnerships Ltd, are also awaiting a decision on a related planning application for the site which also seeks to demolish the Wilmington watering hole and construct a two-storey retail unit along with another pair of two-bedroom homes.

However, a decision has yet to be reached on these plans despite being lodged last December.

According to the approval notice issued on August 21, the developer must provide a number of ecological studies before works can begin.
