Earliest I have found this is 1754 when it was the "Greyhound", although there is a little confusion over that. After the "Greyhound" I believe it was called the "Old Parr's Head" (perhaps) in 1797 and remained with that name till 1891. 1892 till 1914 saw it as the "Empire Tavern." It was tied to Reid's Brewery of London.

 

Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just started to map out the pubs that exist or existed in Gravesend, but need local knowledge and photographs, old and current if you have any.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.
