Earl Grey

Above photo date unknown, by Ian Chapman.

The current building says it was erected in 1913, but I have reference to a licensee there in 1881, so this is obviously not the original building. The pub is unfortunately closed, date unknown and now in residential use.

Christine Mortimer tells me the original building was addressed at 1 Straightsmouth Street.

Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation.
