This pub has been traced back to as early 1686, but has changed name on many occasions through it's history. Its first name change was in 1720 when it became the "General Wolfe," then again in 1779 where it appears to have been closed for two years, to reopen again in 1781 as the "Admiral Boscowen." In 1836 it changed once again to be renamed the "Albion Tavern." Then again in 1992 it closed after a fire that gutted the building, but reopened as the "Buffalo's Head" two years later in 1994. That lasted to 2008 where it once again changed name to the simple sounding "Bar 59" taking the name from the street number, and as far as I know it is still operating under that name today. (2014)
