New pub restaurant to open in Westwood

The Canterbury Bell is set to open in September

Work is progressing on a new pub in Westwood which will create at least 40 jobs.

Pub firm and brewery Marston is working on The Canterbury Bell behind the fire station and DFS furniture store.

The 180-cover pub restaurant is due for completion towards the end of September as part of an new build scheme to open 25 to 30 pubs across Britain every year.

They also have planning permission for a 27-bedroom hotel, which could start work after the pub opens.

 

The pub also has a small hotel adjacent, which is also part of the pub business.
