Strange Way of Seeking Redress.

On Monday, Mary Ann Young, a married woman living at 20, Edward Street, Deptford, was charged with breaking two windows, value £3 12s., at the "West Kent Yeoman," public house in the same street.

The damage committed was proven by the barman, who saw the prisoner take up two stones from the road, and throw them at the windows.

In answer to the charge, the accused alleged her husband was always in the "Yeoman," and it was for the purpose of fetching him away she went there on Saturday; but as he would not come out, she smashed the windows.

Mr. Traill said he had no doubt the prisoner suffered wrongfully by the hands of her husband, but it was a strange way of seeking redress by breaking the publicans glass. She would have to pay the value of the property destroyed, together with a fine of 10s., or in default was committed for a month.
