CRAYFORD. PUBLIC-HOUSE BURNT DOWN.
Between one and two on Wednesday morning a fire was discovered at the
"Black Bull" public house Crayford, from which the inmates had some
difficulty in escaping before the house was in flames. The house,
together with an adjoining cottage, was burnt down, the damage being
estimated at £1,000. The house was occupied at the time by Mr. Martin.
The fire was extinguished by the engine from Barnes Cray.

CRAYFORD. STEALING RABBITS.
On the 1st or 2nd inst. one grey doe and five young rabbits (sandy),
were stolen from a hutch in a shed in the rear of the premises occupied
by Mr. Robinson, baker, High-street, Crayford. The thieves gained access
to the animals by entering the yard from the ruins caused by the burning
of the "Black Bull" public-house. The value of them was 8s., and were
the property of Mr. Robinson. |
