Above card issued 1973. Sign number 25. Although the address on the
card says Queenborough, it is closer to Minster. It is not to be
confused for the "Ship Hotel" in
Queenborough as that closed around the 1930s. Or indeed the "Ship
Hotel" at Blue Town, Sheerness. |

From an email received 8 July, 2012.
Dear Paul,
I was wondering if you could help me - I am trying to find the location
of the "Ship Inn" - see attached photo
(Top photo). I believe it is somewhere in Kent - my
grandparents used to work there. I am not sure exactly when the photo was
taken but from the looks of it they used to sell Fremlins Ale.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Chris Ellis.

From an email received 17 July, 2013.
Just been looking at your
interesting website and saw this pub which Chris Ellis was wanting to know about.
Not sure if this has been answered already but this pub is currently know as
The "Aviator" (Shepherd Neame) and is located nr Sheerness on the Isle of
Sheppey, I drive past it every six weeks on my journey back to Kent and
recognised it straight away.
Hope this helps.
Martin Leigh.
Believe it or not I have actually been passing
it almost twice a day since I started teaching at the two Isle of Sheppey
Academies, but never realised it was this one at all. It is situated right
on the edge of a place called Halfway.
Paul Skelton.
