COUNTY PETTY SESSIONS

Mr. W. H. Pilcher applied for a license for a new house in course of erection, to be called the "Railway Tavern," situate at Northfleet, near the 20th mile stone. The application was refused, the magistrates telling Mr. Pilcher that it would be better that he should first complete the building.

SUICIDE AT NORTHFLEET.

On Tuesday an inquest was held at the "Railway Tavern," Northfleet, before T. Hills, Esq., coroner on the body of William Horsnail, late in the employ of "Mr. Blackman, of the above tavern, as footman. The deceased committed suicide by hanging, and was found on Monday in one of the outbuildings of the tavern, suspended by the neck in a kneeling position. A verdict of "Temporary insanity" was returned.
