Built around 1904 the building had gained a grade 2 listing. Unfortunately closed in 1995 and subsequently used as bed-sit's and an old people's home. Planning permission was sought in 2005 to convert the premises into a seven bedroom private residence and later for the use of flat after it failed to attract a buyer. Unfortunately the building shortly after this was destroyed by fire and had to be demolished, to be replaced by the building shown below.
